By carpet fiber/material:

Polyester

Polyester carpets are better for low to moderate traffic areas such as bedrooms and offices. These carpets also offer more color clarity, are a second source polymer, are very hard to stain, and are relatively inexpensive.

Nylon

These carpets work better for higher traffic areas such as hallways and living rooms. Nylon carpets are more dense which allows it to spring back into shape better, enables good durability, and is nearly indistinguishable from Polyester carpets.

Berber

Berber is one of the oldest forms of carpet and can be identified by small flecks of color throughout or its looped structure. These carpets can be more durable and are spill resistant. However, cats may like to sharpen their claws on the fiber which may damage it.

Tile

These flooring options are highly durable, scratch/water resistant, and are easy to clean and maintain. Some have the look of wood with the benefits of tile. For a more rustic look, random shade and texture variation is best. Low shade and texture variation is more suited for a contemporary look.

Hardwood/Engineered Hardwood

Made from real hardwood, engineered hardwood relies on a cross-ply construction and can resist expansion and contraction better than traditional hardwood flooring. In addition, engineered hardwood can be installed below, at, or above grade with various installation methods.

Laminates and Vinyls

Laminates are hard surfaced flooring made from several materials fused together and utilize either medium or high density fiber board in the core.

Luxury vinyls share these same characteristics but are softer underfoot and can be used in either homes or commercial settings and are ideal for heavy foot traffic or rolling loads. The surface of these floors are protected by a waterproof

Vinyl composite cores are rigid planks that link together via a joint system and are constructed from waterproof vinyl composite materials.
